Christen Marriage
In Pakistan Christen Marriage are governed by christen marriage act 1872,
Application of act.
it applies to the parties where either one or both of the parties are Christen,
Solemnization of Marriage.
such marriages are solemnized by any person who has received Episcopal Ordination and according to the rites of that Church, by a clergy man of a church of Scotland, or by any minister of Religion marriage registrar, or other licensed person.
Time and Place of Marriage
Marriage must, unless a special License is obtained be celebrated between 6 am to 7 pm, and should normally be at Church, unless a special license is obtained or there is no church within five miles or parties residence.
Notice
Notice must be given to the minister who solemnized the marriage, stating full name, residence, profession, if under month of parties, intended place of solemnization, where one of the parties is minor, consent must be obtained by parent or guardian, and copy of notice and consent must be issued to marriage registrar, unless parent or guardian or not resident in Pakistan in which case no consent is required And consent notice must be published by both of minister and marriage registrar where it is sent to him and on the request of either parties a certificate of notice given and a declaration made can be obtained from registrar or minister where no lawful impediment exists and giving of such certificate is forbidden . any person whose consent is necessary can forbid the marriage but the minister must examine the notice forbidding the marriage and satisfied the it is authorized.
Appeal
Where marriage is solemnized by marriage registrar and consent is withheld the parties may appeal to petition to district judge. Marriage solemnized by marriage registrar are also governed by virtually similar rules. Marriages must be solemnized within two months of issuance of certificate of notice, unless a certificate is reissued the marriage will be void.
witnesses
The marriage must be witnessed by two witnesses
Registration of Marriage
Marriage must be registered and a register kept according to rules IV of the act
Hindu Marriage Act
The Hindu marriage act is governed by the ” The Hindu Marriage act 2017, and it is applicable through out Pakistan”
